3D Models

Hello!

I went to see my OS yesterday. He showed me the 3D Models I had done a few weeks ago, here are the pictures:

The left side and the right side are COMPLETELY different. 

My over-jet is 7mm on the right side and 4 on the left.

This is the side I broke. Its much thinner than the right side.

This is a weird view... But from the back you can really see the difference in the bone, the right side is strong and much longer, the left is weak and it looks out of place...

He told me he will send me the CT Scan after xmas, I will upload it as soon as I receive it.

He also said he has been talking to some colleagues about my case, he is thinking about just moving my left side forward and do a joint replacement on the right. I was quite surprised with this as I was sure a bi-jaw surgery would be enough! He says there is plenty of time before he has to decide...

He also mentioned a genioplasty would give me a much better profile, I trust him 100% so I'll probably do it as well

Diagnoses

I just found a letter with my diagnoses. If anyone is interested here it is:

-Skeletal and dental class 2 division 1
-Left condylar, ramus and mandibular body hypoplasia
-Chin point asymmetry to the left
-Viertical maxillary excess

Hello again!

Here are the x-rays I got done a few months ago. Sorry for the bad quality but this is the best i can get of my old scanner! I have another appointment with Dr. Heliotis next Thursday and he will give me a copy of my CT Scans and stereolithographic models, I'll upload them as soon as I get home :)

On the front x-ray you can see how damaged my left condyle is, I cant believe my GP said it wasnt that bad... I've been told I will need a joint replacement in about 20 years time :(

You have probably noticed the amount of missing molars.... the problem is that they get chipped sometimes because even tho i dont have a cross bite i can really fit my jaws in the right place if you know what i mean... specially when im asleep. I have also had TERRIBLE experiences with dentists, they are my LEAST favourite people in the whole world! Once the surgery is done I will get a couple of implants to make it perfect!

On the front scan you can also see how my bottom teeth shifted to the right, I hope it doesnt mean it will take longer to get them straight!

I really, really HATE this picture. You can see the long bit at the end of my nose....

I will upload better pictures another day. Im getting the surgery done mainly to correct my bite but I am also really looking forward to the 'cosmetic side effects'. Let me know if you have any questions :) I dont even know if anyone is reading this! haha

I was 9 or 10 in this one, the change is already noticeable. My jaw-line is vanishing...

I think i was 14 or 15 in this picture... Before I started tricking the pictures :) The asymmetry is very clear in this picture...

Hello!

So... let me explain. When I was 6 I was playing with my brother and I had a bad fall which resulted in my left condyle being broken. Since then my jaw hasn't grown properly, the left side hasn't actually grown much at all! Once I upload the x-rays you will be able to have a much better idea of what's going on. 20 years later and I have Long Face Syndrome: over-bite, over-jet and jaw asymmetry. If that wasn't enough I also snore heavily at night (but don't tell anyone). My nose has also been affected, its longer than it should be at the end, you'll see in the pictures.

I decided to see a Doctor a few months ago because my left side really hurts sometimes. The cosmetic problem has never worried me too much, or so I thought... I think I've been in denial all this time. The best way to describe what it feels like is comparing it to hearing your own voice recorded, you know: 'eww... thats not me'. That's what i feel like when i see a picture of me, the image in my head is entirely different. I suppose this happens to everyone... I didn't think my looks were something to worry about but I've realised I do A LOT of untagging on facebook and I am a master of getting pictures taken from the Right Angle. I will upload some of those today. Oh dear....

Hi! Im a 26 years old London girl and in January 2012 I'll begin a journey to correct my over-bite, over-jet and jaw asymmetry. I'll try to post as regularly as I can with my progress and I'll upload all my x-rays and CT Scans. All my problems are due to an accident when I was 6 so I'll also upload some picture of me when I was little.
