1st braces anniversary aaaaand I HAVE A DATE!!!!

YES!! I DOOOOO!!!! I'm over the moon!! Yesterday marked my one year anniversary with these horrible things in my mouth and I also had a joint appointment with my surgeon and orthodontist. They said I'm ready and went through a few things together. The plan now is to impact my top jaw 5mm and move it forward 3mm. Lower jaw advancement of about 6mm and genioplanty. I booked my date as soon as I left the office, he asked me to book it in about 3 weeks because I need some blood test and a facebow which I'm trying to get done next week. I can't do it in three weeks because I will be in the Caribbean for work (tough life) until 14th April so I booked it for 20th April. I'm so excited and nervous!! I nearly cried when I left haha silly me...
I can't believe this is happening!!! 36 days!!!! I wish I could say it has gone so quick and blah blah blah but I want to be honest here, I.HATE.MY.BRACES!! Ok they are not as bad as I thought but I still want to pull them off every day! One thing I was very wrong about is guys, I thought 'this is it! No kissing any one for two years!' But as it turns out I fell in love with one of my friends and so did he :) it happened while we were travelling in India, he is a massive support through this tedious process. But every time I kiss him I think 'damn you braces' I just ant wait to be over and done with this!!! Aaaaaargh rant over hahaha

10 months and every tooth has a braket!!

Hello bloggers and readers!

First of all apologies for not being a very good blogger but I've been all over the place for the last few months: Ibiza, Italy and India :)

Second of all HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope you all had a lovely holiday, I was in the north of England where it rains and it rains and it rains and guess what? IT RAINS! Haha I had a great time tho

Lets get to jaw business :) I've been seeing my surgeon every three months and my orthodontist every 5 weeks. Today I had moulds taken to see how soon I can have the surgery, I'm hoping it won't be later than April, initially it was going to be January/February but as most of you know the dates are never right. Last month my ortho said June, I nearly freaked out! Like Amy Winehouse said: And I said NO NO NO! I told him latest of the latest had to be April and he said he'd see what he can do. Fingers crossed!

I'm seeing my surgeon again on the 17th. Expect and update that day, I promise! :)

Predicted Profile

Hello everyone!!!

I've been wanting to see these for ages :) Im so happy my surgeon showed me the predicted profile tracings, he says they could still change but for now they'll be:

Upper jaw:

Impacted 3mm in the front and 6mm in the back, moved forward 3mm

Lower jaw:

Moved forward 6mm (I forgot to ask him if it'll be 6mm on both sides)

Genioplasty:

7mm (total lower jaw movement 13mm)



Im so exited! I know the profile tracings are not 100% accurate but Im loving what I see!

What do you guys think? Please be honest :)

AFTER! 

I also had a ortho visit a week ago, he fitted the bands on, I had no idea he was going to do that!! It was a.... uncomfortable surprise :( I couldnt bite down properly for a couple of days but its all settled down now, I'll post some pictures when I get back form the gym. Before I forget: he said I would be ready for surgery in 9-12 months, Im hoping I'll be ready for February.

Weak chin model

Hello everyone!

Hope everyone is keeping well specially those of you recovering from your surgery or preparing for it! All my best thoughts go to you!

I have to admit I've become somewhat obsessed with jaws and chins. Im not the only one, right? The point of this post is that I saw this model on TV and she has a weak chin, I think she is beautiful and its making me reconsider genio... what do you guys think? here is a couple of pictures of her.

I have an appointment with my OS next week so I'll ask him about it, he is going to give me the predicted profile tracings! IM SO EXCITED!!!! :)

Lower braces are ON

Hey there followers!!

First of all congratulations to Cat!! her results are amazing and its so encouraging to see her amazing smile, thanks so much for sharing :)

I went to see my OD to get my lower braces fitted, I wasnt as nervous as last time... It only took about 30 minutes in total. I got metal ones to make my smile shine!! :P I got them on Left 1234 and 6 and Right 12345. He didnt link left 4 and 6 because he wants to make the front ones straight first and then start closing the gaps.

I thought he was going to change the wire in the top ones but he said there is still some work to be done, he did say they look pretty straight but I really can't tell. I guess its because I see them every day.
