I've been wanting to see these for ages :) Im so happy my surgeon showed me the predicted profile tracings, he says they could still change but for now they'll be:
Upper jaw:
Impacted 3mm in the front and 6mm in the back, moved forward 3mm
Lower jaw:
Moved forward 6mm (I forgot to ask him if it'll be 6mm on both sides)
Genioplasty:
7mm (total lower jaw movement 13mm)
Im so exited! I know the profile tracings are not 100% accurate but Im loving what I see!
What do you guys think? Please be honest :)

I also had a ortho visit a week ago, he fitted the bands on, I had no idea he was going to do that!! It was a.... uncomfortable surprise :( I couldnt bite down properly for a couple of days but its all settled down now, I'll post some pictures when I get back form the gym. Before I forget: he said I would be ready for surgery in 9-12 months, Im hoping I'll be ready for February.
Have a lovely weekend!

Wow, the projected outcome looks awesome!! Definitely something to get excited about :) It will be here before you know it!
ReplyDeleteYour prediction tracing looks great! Your face is going to look so much more relaxed and comfortable. I'm a bit surprised that your surgeon did a tracing so far in advance. I don't think my surgeon did one until a week before surgery, but it's nice to have an image in your mind to focus on while you're waiting for surgery day!
ReplyDeleteWell I thought it look great in the beginning but I posted them on http://www.jawsurgeryblog.com/forums/topic/predicted-profile-and-movements-for-overbite
ReplyDeleteand Im having second thoughts. I asked my surgeon not to do anything too drastic and now I think the changes will be too subtle... And there is the whole thing about why my lips are closed on the original one...
On my next appointment I'll ask him to do another one.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!! And congrats of your recovery to both of you!!! you are doing so well :)
